Callen is 9 Months old....where does the time go????? we are gearing up to celebrate his very first Christmas. This is such a magical time of the year. We are enjoying making many new traditions with our little family of four. It is so neat to watch the kids and how excited they get this time of year!
Our first visit to santa went well even if we were a few hours early :) The kids enjoyed telling him what they wanted and Callen even woke up in time to sit on his lap. Kaitlyn put her request in she asked for three things: a bunk bed for her doll house, a big girl bike and a hello kitty doll.....after we left she said, "Oh mommy! I forgot to ask santa for some new tights"....she was really bummed, I told her santa probably heard her :)
We had some time to kill at the mall....the mall may have opened early but Santa was still at the North Pole Kaitlyn and Callen had fun playing with their cousins at the playplace.
We went to Dorothy B. Oven park to see the lights on Elf night....Jon doesn't quite understand why I love to go when we can go any other night of the month and have the whole park to ourselves and not have to fight traffic, lines crowds etc.....I tell him its because it is Tallahassee tradition! We had fun Kaitlyn and Callen loved the snow machine ( it was actually foam....Shhhh don't tell her that)
We are making several new traditions this year with our little family and one night we all made handprint / footprint ornaments for our tree out of some homemade salt dough....Kaitlyn had fun rolling it out and putting on the glitter...Callen want too sure he wanted to put his foot in it.
On December 1st Kaitlyn and I made an Advent Christmas calendar to count down the days to Jesus' birthday and when Santa arrives. Each day she removes a clip and counts how many days we have left. At first we added her Christmas list to the picture frame since then we added her picture of her and santa.
Nothing better than decorating the family Christmas tree by the fire with some cookies and hot chocolate while listening to Christmas music. It may have taken us till 11:30 at night but we had a great time. Kaitlyn got her Elf on the Shelf in the mail this week from Santa, he is a great little guy she named Otto. He gets into all kinds of mischief around the house!
It's Finally December 1st lets get the tree. Jon has a rule no trees before December! We went to our favorite spot and let the kids pick the tree Jon and Kaitlyn found the perfect one! It looks so beautiful in the house :)
Callen is growing so fast, we just started him on some finger foods and drinking from his little cup at first he wasn't quite sure what to do with it but he quickly got the hang of it. He is crawling all over the place and loves to pull up on things around the house. He is so incredibly silly and loves to laugh with his sissy! He is growing so incredibly fast it is hard to believe he is just a couple months away from turning ONE! Yikes!!!
